Big Box Containers

Big Box Containers rents, sells and customises new and refurbished shipping containers and refrigerated containers.

Big Box Containers was founded in Cape Town in 1997. It started out as a division of the Triton and then the Royal Wolf Australia group. A management buyout occurred after it became clear that the Australian company wanted to exit South Africa, resulting in the registration of Big Box Containers as a proprietary limited company.

In light of clear synergies between Big Box Containers and Intespace’s other divisions, the company became part of the Intespace group in 2014.

Big Box Containers is now one of the biggest privately owned container rental, sales and conversion companies in Africa, with operations in the Western Cape and Gauteng. The company also arranges deliveries of containers throughout South Africa and further afield in sub-Saharan Africa.

Big Box Containers aims to excel in serving the growing market for containers in southern Africa, providing containers and conversion work of the highest quality.
